If master classes are planned, creative classes with a child or you simply need to glue a piece of wallpaper torn off in place with a small bully, but there is no glue at hand, then the old grandmother’s recipe will help! Clester manufacture recipe.
It is so easy to cook it that even a child to cope with this. All that is needed for this is flour and water. And the talent “do not confuse anything”.
How to cook a paste
We take a deep enameled container. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of flour into it, add ½ cup of cold water and mix intensively until a homogeneous gruel is obtained. Now we add boiling water to this mass in such an amount that the paste has a consistency of medium density. There is a proportion of 1:1.5, but you can also “by eye”. Pour boiling water in a thin stream, not forgetting to stir in order to prevent the appearance of lumps. Then we put the bowl with the glue mass on a slow fire for about three minutes. Stir continuously and do not bring to a boil. That’s all. Clayster is ready for use. As you can see for yourself, it is simply unrealistic to confuse anything here.
Why paste is better than any other glue? It is natural and completely safe for small children. Even if a little “jack of all trades” out of curiosity tastes the paste, this will not harm his body and will not overshadow the creative process. This glue is hypoallergenic, easily washed off the skin of the hands and does not have a strong synthetic smell. Sticks together paper, rag surfaces no worse than other sticky “brothers”. Great for appliqués, collages, papier-mâché, small paper-based repairs. Such an adhesive does not imply difficulty in its preparation and has, perhaps, the most economical recipe.
How to cook paste
Do not be surprised if some sources mention starch instead of flour. Since starch (corn or potato – there is no difference) is endowed with the same property as wheat flour. Starch, viscous, quickly soluble and has a glutinous effect.
When preparing a paste, take note of:
First, flour (starch) is poured in, and then the liquid is poured in, and not vice versa.
The paste, which contains starch, is stored in glassware for only 4-5 hours.
A paste made from flour will be unusable the very next day.
Therefore, it is not advisable to prepare the paste for the future.
