Compressed air is the energy potential that is actively used in the industrial sector and in the national economy in general. In most cases, a compressed air mixture is used to power a pneumatic tool. It would seem that everything is simple – the air compressed to a pressure of several atmosphere is supplied to the pneumatic mechanism of the tool and the latter can be operated. However, the whole question is that a compressed mixture is presented, which contains a lot of all kinds of impurities. The fact of these impurities entering the tool may be accompanied by negative moments, up to the failure of the tool. What to do?
This issue became relevant at the very beginning of the development of compressor technology. We solved this problem fast enough. Designed special elements – compressed air filters. With the development of compressor technology, filter designs naturally evolved as well. Today we have already reached such results when the air is purified almost to an ideal state. Take, for example, ABAC compressed air filters. The company has developed and produces filter elements of three cleaning classes – models AQF, APF, AHF, ACF. Working pressure for all filters can reach 16 atm. Model AQF is designed for preliminary air purification from particles of mechanical, oil, water, up to five microns in size. The filter is used in power supply systems for pneumatic tools, as well as in control systems for mechanisms. It is usually installed after the air dryer.
The element of the APF model is characterized as a microfilter that separates impurities up to one micron in size. The scope of such filter elements is measuring, regulating instruments and devices. A microfilter is installed before the air dryer. An even higher degree of purification is provided by the AHF model submicrofilter. With this design, impurities up to one hundredth of a micron in size are separated. Finally, the degree of purification with an accuracy of one thousandth of a micron is provided by the ACF compressed air filters. These are special designs of filter elements filled with carbon powder. They are usually used to separate other gaseous components from the air mixture – carbohydrates, acids and others. They are used in medicine, in pharmaceutical and food enterprises, in laboratories.
