How to install an hood in the kitchen

Probably the repair in the kitchen is the most expensive and takes more time than in any other room of the apartment. After all, burning, soot, steam and drops of fat that fly in the air during cooking, settled on the surface of walls, furniture and household appliances. Because of this, you spend your time cleaning and harvesting, instead of doing more interesting things. Over time, the kitchen loses its appearance and you have to buy new furniture and make repairs. Now there is a large selection of manufacturing companies and trays. The main thing to remember is that the hood should be the same width as the stove or more, but in no case less.

To extend the life and preserve the appearance of the kitchen, you need to install a hood. When buying a hood, installation instructions are attached to it, which must be followed in order for this technique to comply with fire safety standards. You can call a specialist for this, or you can try to install it yourself. The installation process of the hood is not very complicated, but it has several points, under which the hood will definitely work correctly.

So, the instructions should indicate at what height the hood should be installed, for electric stoves it is about 70 centimeters, and for a gas stove – 80. Island hoods are used when it is not possible to fix the hood on the wall.

We mark on the wall the places where we will drill holes. We insert dowels into the holes and with the help of self-tapping screws we attach canopies, on which we will hook the exhaust system. All fasteners must be included.

We fix the hood itself and proceed to the installation of the duct. The duct should have as few bends as possible. The hood must be connected only to the ventilation duct. All connections must be well sealed so that the air from the kitchen is vented to the ventilation, and does not fall back into the kitchen. And the gaps that remain can be sealed with mounting foam for better traction.

Installation completed, test run required. To check, you need to try all modes of operation. If, after attaching a newspaper sheet, with the hood turned on, it sticks, then the exhaust system is installed correctly.

Using the hood is very simple, you only need to wash it from time to time and change the filters.
