Sliding doors can consist of one door leaf or several, mounted with guide rails. The latter are located on one side of the doorway.
When opening or closing the door, the door leaf moves parallel to the wall, and this significantly increases the free space. In addition, it is not necessary to take into account the opening radius. When open, the sliding door fully opens the doorway. This is its main difference from a conventional and folding door, which, even when opened, partially blocks it.

Difficulties can arise only at the very beginning in the process of choosing the door of the desired configuration. The final choice must be made only after carefully measuring the dimensions of the doorway. It is also necessary to take into account the structural features of the premises that this attribute of the interior will share.
When choosing a suitable door, it should be borne in mind that the size of the opening should be slightly smaller than the sizes of the door leaf.

How to install a sliding interior door yourself
When the doorway acquires the desired dimensions, you can proceed to, in fact, install the door itself. First, determine the side on which the above attribute will be located. Most often, it is mounted on the side where the room is located, into which a person enters, passing through the main entrance. If the doorway is in the corridor, then install the door so that it opens exactly from the corridor.
The installation of a sliding door provides for the presence of unoccupied space along the wall where it is when opening or closing. If there are protruding platbands on the doorway, then they should be removed.
To begin with, they mount the lower guide, one of the edges of which should protrude slightly beyond the opening. The door should rest against its edge, while being in the center.
If a double-leaf door is mounted, then the guide must be placed in the middle of the doorway. The lower bar is mounted in the floor or in a special threshold.
Parallel to the lower bar, the upper guide profile is mounted. It is attached to the wall at the same height as the upper edge of the door leaf with rollers. You can fix it with the help of brackets planted on dowels with screws or self-tapping screws.
Then the rollers are attached and the door itself is installed. It is hung on the upper rail and inserted into the lower profile. If the check of the door showed that it opens and closes perfectly, then you can start installing a door accessories such as pens, platbands, limiters, etc.
