For those who want to drink only pure water, designers offer a simple and, at the same time, a unique invention. This is a bottle with a 150 liter water filter built into the neck. In addition to the fact that this device purifies water, it also gives it a pleasant taste.
Of course, we all know that the quality of water in the tap is so low that it is simply dangerous to drink it, so a household filter has become an indispensable attribute of any kitchen. But what is the best filter to have at home?
If you value your health, you can not do without a water purifier. The composition of the water flowing in our homes contains almost all the elements of the periodic table, and if we also imagine old rusty water pipes … All sorts of impurities in the water can cause disruption of the central nervous system, gastrointestinal tract, and, including, the liver. So if you do not want to clog your body, run to the store for a filter.
Modern water purifiers can be conditionally divided into three types: this is a filter jug, the so-called nozzle on the tap and a stationary device that is connected directly to the water supply. Of the proposed options, the simplest and most inexpensive is the filter jug. This device is divided by the volume of water, by color and design, as well as by resource. The resource depends directly on the plug-in module contained in the filter itself. The larger the replacement filter module, the longer it will last. For example, if you see on the packaging that the module is designed for 300 liters, then you will have to replace it in about 1.5-2 months. In addition to size, pitcher filters also differ in the way they purify water. There are replaceable modules that purify water only from chlorine and any mechanical impurities, and there are also modules that can additionally purify water from excessive hardness. The disadvantage of a jug filter is that it does not purify water effectively enough.
The faucet nozzle does this job noticeably better due to the more powerful cleaning module. Having a sufficiently large resource, the nozzle can last from one and a half months to six months, then the module changes. The advantages of such water purifiers are relatively low, compared to others, price and ease of installation. This device has one significant drawback – rather low performance. In order for the water to be purified effectively, it is let in a thin stream and, as a result, it will drip half a liter of water at the most in a minute.
More productive – stationary systems that cut into the water supply. They have the most impressive resource and high quality filtration. There are filters that have one replaceable element with several layers, as well as filters consisting of three flasks, where water passes through each module. Drinking water flows from a separate faucet, which is mounted additionally. The service life of stationary systems is designed for about a year, then they need to be replaced. The main filter element, which is installed in most budget models, is activated carbon. It rids the water of chlorine-containing compounds and harmful impurities. In this case, mechanical cleaning takes place.
More advanced method – electro-chemical. Water is passed through a special container and as a result of electrolysis, oxidation and reduction reactions occur, while bacteria and even viruses are destroyed. Although such filters are expensive, they can turn even the dirtiest water into drinking water.
