False ceiling installation basics
Suspended ceilings are used indoors in order to improve the acoustic and architectural and aesthetic qualities of the room, for the installation of concealed wiring for engineering communications, etc.P. The advantages of this type of ceilings include installation speed, ample opportunities for interior design, good stability during dynamic effects, vibrations.
The installation of a false ceiling should be started after the installation of all communications that you are going to place above the false ceiling is completed, because their laying after the installation of the ceiling, although possible, is too inconvenient. Ceiling tiles should preferably be kept for a day before installation in the room in which the installation will be carried out. The room should be glazed, dry and, if possible, heated.
The technology for installing such ceilings consists of the following steps: marking the ceiling, installing a suspension system, and installing ceiling tiles.
It is advisable to pre-measure the room with a tape measure and make a plan on paper. The ceiling must be mounted so that the incomplete slabs on opposite sides of the room are the same size.
When marking the horizontal of the future ceiling, you need to put a mark on any wall at the required distance from the floor. After marking, it must be projected onto all the walls of the room so that all marks can be easily connected by a horizontal line using a ruler and a chopping cord. In order for the surface of the ceiling not to repeat irregularities, as well as the slope of the floor, the projection must be done using a level-rail, while taking the debut mark as a basis.
Installation of the suspension system must begin with fixing to the walls of a special L-shaped profile, which is included in the suspended ceiling kit. To prepare a profile of the desired size, a hacksaw or grinder is used. The profile must be fixed so that it forms «shelf», which is facing down. Elements for fasteners are selected in accordance with the material of which the walls are composed.
